Lurgan Baptist Church
Johnston's Row,
High Street,
Lurgan,
County Armagh.

The first mention of Baptist church in Lurgan is found in the September issue of the Irish Baptist magazine for 1881. Meetings were conducted in tents in the town by the Pastor of Banbridge Baptist Church, S J Banks and Mr M Simpson who was known as the "Blind Evangelist". These meetings were followed by special meetings in the "Baptist Assembly Rooms".
The current church
was built in 1985. In the year 2000 an entrance porch was built
and the vestry was enlarged. Our thanks to P. Flannagan for the photos used.
