Lurgan Footballer Killed.
On Monday the relatives of Private Robert Shanks, of the 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, whose father Mr Robert Shanks resides in Clara Street, Lurgan, were informed by the War Office that he had died in hospital as a result of wounds received in action. Deceased who was a young man of about 23 years of age, formerly played right half for Lurgan Distillery, and by his fellow players he was held in high regard.
