Son of William Partridge, of Sarah Street, Portadown, Co. Armagh.
Lieut. S. T. Haney writes: “I am deeply grieved to have to write and inform you of the death of your son in action. The company was attacking a strong German position, and your son was killed instantaneously while fighting in the front ranks, which had penetrated well into the German lines. I am sure that it will be a small consolation to you to know that your son did his duty nobly to the last. He was always regarded by the officers and men as one of the best.”
