Lurgan Mail: 21st April 1917:
Mr Henry McIlmurray, North Street, Lurgan, has received intimation during the week from the officer
commanding the Platoon that his youngest son, John McIlmurray, Seaforth Highlanders, was killed in action on
9th inst., when he was shot attending to a wounded comrade. Deceased who is only 25 years of age, enlisted in
November 1915, and went to the front a year ago. Prior to enlisting he worked with his father as a tailor.
