RETURN to an Order of the Honourable The House of Commons,
dated 8 March 1864 ;- for,
ABSTRACT RETURN, by Counties and Parishes, of the Names of all the SCHOOLS in connection with the
BOARD of NATIONAL EDUCATION in Ireland (distinguishing Vested from Non-vested) in operation on
the 31st of December 1862; Name, Profession, and Religious Denominations of the Patron of each School,
Name, Religion, Class, and Year of Training of Head and Assistant Literary Teachers, Workmistresses, and
paid Monitors of each School; Days and Hours set apart for all Religious Instructions given in the School,
and Number of Pupils on Roll of each School, classified by Creed, and Names of the Persons who impart it.
Denomination and number of pupils: R.C. = Roman Catholic. E.C. = Established Church, Pres.= Presbyterian, Diss.= Dissenter
